The Dishonest Son and The ‘Ghost’ Doctor Mother – Chapter 50

The Philanthropist Master Yang’s usefulness

Yu Zuolin’s expression changed immediately, he proceeded to tear off the blindfold covering his eyes.

When turning his head, he managed to catch a glimpse of the woman standing at the door, her body was basked by the afterglow of the setting sun in the background. As he was still feeling stunned by the sight, he discovered that half of her face was been hidden behind a silky cloth, only her bright and clear eyes were revealed… as well as her graceful silhouette.

Yu Zuolin blinked, not having looked at her for long enough, he heard a voice he was recently familiarized with: “Gongzi, something came up in the tavern, you are welcome to do as you will, I shall go first, I bid you farewell, for now.”

After Yu Qingluo finished speaking, she rushed quickly out of the room through the door.

Who could guess that after just taking a couple of steps an arm would suddenly hook around her waist? A refreshing scent enveloped her, lingering on her nose, before she felt her feet leave the ground as she was taken directly up the roof.

She turned her head around to glare at Ye Xiudu: “Why are you still here?”

“Shh, he came out.” Ye Xiudu held her by her waist with a hand and covered her mouth with the other, making a gesture with his head for her to look down.

Sure enough, Yu Zuolin had chased after her out of the room. His steps came to a halt outside as he turned his head back and forth searching for her figure. “Miss! Miss?”

Ye Xiudu raised his eyebrows, then moved the hand that was covering her mouth to pinch her soft cheeks, speaking with a deep voice: “I didn’t expect you to be so skilful in seducing men.”

She didn’t hide the fact that she had deliberately attracted Yu Zuolin’s attention. She was clearly using the strategy of ‘releasing someone in order to capture them’[1] to make Yu Zuolin curious about her.

Men held an especial interest towards this type of woman – in particular towards mysterious and unique women like that.

Just take a look at it. In a matter of a few sentences, Yu Zuolin had already turned the woman he came in search of medical treatment for into his little sister. Heh, only God knows where he got this little sister of his from.

This woman knows what she’s doing and she uses it masterfully. And that makes Ye Xiudu extremely displeased.

Yu Qingluo felt her face hurt from his pinching, so she took her hand to his waist and twisted on his flesh without holding back. She then spoke in between her teeth: “Ye Xiudu, let me go. Otherwise, I’ll bite you!”

“Humph.” Ye Xiudu snorted, pulling his hand back.

But the body surrounding her was still in the same position.

Yu Qingluo wanted to push him away but now it wasn’t the time for that. If she drew Yu Zuolin’s attention to them then she might screw things up.

Whatever, she won’t lose a thing even if he keeps hugging her.

In any case, if he really is Nannan’s father, then 6 years ago, they had already gotten far more intimate than a simple embrace.

As she was putting on a mental wall, the backyard had already been crowded by a lot of people. Those who had heard that there was someone ill-intentioned aiming towards the Ghost Doctor had all rushed to the backyard, and one of those guys had already grabbed onto Yu Zuolin’s hand as he saw him and asked in a tone filled with anger: “Say it! Is it you? Is it you who wants to hurt the Ghost Doctor?”

Yu Zuolin immediately frowned. He didn’t expect other people to rush here this fast. As he was about to leave, someone had already arrived at where he was. It was almost as if he had been waiting here for a long time just to catch him.

And this man was extremely strong, to the point that Yu Zuolin wasn’t able to break free from his grasp with just a few tries, giving enough time for several people to rush into the yard and surround him.

Yu Qingluo watched satisfied as Yu Zuolin was trapped inside the middle of the mob.

Yu Feng was desperately trying to squeeze into the circle but each of these men was sturdier than the other, to the point that he wasn’t able to move not even to take a step back: “Young master! Young master!”

Da Wu had also rushed over and noticed that Yu Zuolin had been grasped by one of the lads. So he hurriedly shouted: “Xiao Liu[2], what are you doing? That’s Yu Gongzi from the private room number one, it was him who spent 10.000 taels to buy the token from master Yang. He came to meet the Ghost Doctor through a legitimate route, how could he be the person who’s trying to hurt the Ghost Doctor?”

Yu Zuolin’s face changed drastically as he heard those words, anxious to shut Da Wu’s mouth shut.

But no matter how he tried, he wasn’t able to stop him as there were a lot of people standing in between them.

Sure enough, as soon as Da Wu’s words left his mouth the onlookers became even more curious towards him. Everyone inquisitively stretching her necks to take a look at who was this generous guy, pointing their fingers at him.

Xiao Liu probable knew that he had caught the wrong person, but he was still unresigned and tried to defend himself: “But when I entered the backyard, he was the only one I saw standing here. There was no one else. If it isn’t him, then who is it?”

“Xiao Liu.” Jin Liuli ‘squeezed’ through the crowd, leisurely moving towards the lad. As soon as she approached, she looked at Xiao Liu and raised her voice: “Hurry up, why haven’t you let go of Yu Gongzi’s hand yet? How can you be so reckless, Yu Gongzi is a gentle and polite person, how could he be the one wanting to hurt the Ghost Doctor?”

Xiao Liu heard his Shopkeeper rebuke and didn’t dare to raise his voice again. He let go of Yu Zuolin’s arm on the spot and embarrassedly scratched his head: “Eh, Yu Gongzi, I apologize. I- I was just too anxious.”

Yu Zuolin’s face sunk, his icy eyes stared at him with a trace of murderous intent flashing across. Noticing that Yu Feng had managed to squeeze through to the front of the crowd, he sneered and then turned around to leave.

Jin Liuli stood in front of him, hurriedly saying with an apologetic smile: “Yu Gongzi, you are a great person with a big heart, there’s no need to lower yourself to argue with this lad. I have offended you with today’s events, but I guarantee that no harm was intended. Don’t worry, I’ll immediately assign someone to prepare an apology gift in order to help you get over the shock. I’ll also have someone come and arrange a comfortable place for you to settle in. Da Wu, why don’t you do it?”

Yu Zuolin pursed his lips tightly then waved his hands impatiently: “There’s no need for that, I have something else to do. Farewell.”

“Eh?! But…” Jin Liuli seemed to be even more embarrassed, not daring to block his way anymore as he led his subordinate through the crowd out of that place.

However, everyone now knew that he was the guest in the private room number one and they all knew that he was the one who bought the wooden token from Master Yang for the sum of 10.000 taels, so they were naturally very curious about him. Therefore they seemed not to have any intention of obstructing his path but wanted to take a look at him as he went away.

Yu Feng’s expression changed, he moved trying to block other’s people from seeing his Young Master, but there were too many people and it was too difficult for them to simply jump over a roof to leave.

And unfortunately, they couldn’t just ‘handle’ the surrounding common folk, otherwise, the situation might become unfavourable to them.

He really didn’t expect that in this last Shichen[3] such a misfortune would occur.

“That’s strange. He doesn’t seem to be sick or in pain. So why would he spend 10.000 taels just to seek medical treatment from the Ghost Doctor?” someone in the crowd raised the issue by accident.

Immediately other people began to agree: “Yes, doesn’t he look very healthy? Shopkeeper Jin, he doesn’t really have any ulterior motives nor wants to do something against the Ghost Doctor, right? And where’s the Ghost Doctor? Right! Where did the Ghost Doctor go?”

Jin Liuli was busy trying to smooth things over: “Don’t make arbitrary guesses, you are not doctors, so what can you recognise? Whether Yu Gongzi has or not an illness must be assessed by the Ghost Doctor. Ok! Don’t crowd this place. Everybody, move out, ok?”

Yu Zuolin’s steps became even faster. He didn’t want to explain himself to anyone, he just wanted to leave this place loaded with messy people.

However, things don’t always go as expected.

As soon as he reached the arched door connecting the backyard to the front yard, he saw Master Yang standing there.

And beside him was a person he knew all too well.
