The Dishonest Son and The ‘Ghost’ Doctor Mother – Chapter 42

Nannan’s idol

Yu Qingluo frowned, and her initial impression of this woman took a 180-degree turn, instantly dropping to the bottom.

Without being able to win against Ye Xiudu in a short period of time, she actually decided to shift her focus to Yu Qingluo.

With a sneer Yu Qingluo hooked her legs around the beam, preparing to avoid the attack.

Shuang Ke’s lips curled up while her eyes shone brightly as she was planning to take the other woman’s life in a single stroke.

However, while her body was raised in the air moving towards Yu Qingluo, she felt the air shift and a huge pressure coming from behind. Then, a sudden burst of pain before blood started gushing out of her chest, the heavy irony taste of blood filling her mouth.

Unable to take another breath, Shuang Ke’s bloodshot eyes turned scarlet red.

“Ugh…”

The bright red blood rushed forth, sprinkling towards the person in front of her.

Yu Qingluo’s eyes widened at the scene developing in front of her, rapidly bending her flexible waist, she fell back and released her legs from the beam as she brought her arms up and held the nearby pillar for support before leaping towards the ground, landing lightly on her two feet. Patting her hands against her chest, taking a moment to calm her heart, she turned to look at the bloodstains that sprayed all over the place where she was standing a moment before with a lingering fear in her mind. She rejoiced inwardly that her reaction was quick, otherwise, that disgusting blood would have been all over her face right now.

“Your skills are quite good.” Ye Xiudu stood in front of her as he raised his eyebrows in surprise and the corner of his lips hooked into a slight smile.

“You did it on purpose.” Yu Qingluo’s expression was very bad, she gave him a vicious glare. This man clearly saw that she was trying not to get exposed in order to not be involved in their skirmish while watching it all from above, still, he went as far as letting that woman target her on purpose.

Ye Xiudu didn’t deny her words, but instead cast his eyes towards Shuang Ke who had been thrown to the ground by his previous move and slowly said: “I wouldn’t have let her hurt you.”

Yu Qingluo let out a cold smile: “Right, you only let her spill some blood all over my face.” If it was not for her fast and nimble reflexes and her being quick-witted, then she’d surely be in a sorry state, being teased to death by him right now.

“Y-you… How is it… possible?” Shuang Ke still had a whiff of life left on her, using her elbows to support herself into a half-sitting position she looked at Ye Xiudu with an incredulous expression.

She didn’t understand, Ye Xiudu had been undoubtedly wounded during the fight and he was obviously in a disadvantageous position. How can it be that in the end, the person who fell to the ground seriously injured was actually herself? How could he still have that much strength left?

Ye Xiudu eyed her coldly: “Your skill is indeed not bad, but your mistress[1] forgot to tell you about something. After so many years of suffering countless assassination attempts, if I had no abilities, how could I have survived?”

Yu Qingluo gave him a stare, ‘countless assassination attempts?’ Just what sort of deep hatred does this woman’s mistress bear against Ye Xiudu?

Shuang Ke covered the wound in her chest with a hand as another bout of blood gushed out of it uncontrollably: “ You… You knew that my mistress is…”

“I know.” Ye Xiudu crouched over, a smile lingered over his lips even though his expression was extremely cold. His next words were spoken in a tone that was just as cold as it was terrifying, like that of a ghost’s in a deep and dark night: “And I also know that, this time marks your mistress’s 15th failed assassination attempt.”

After he spoke he lifted his body, which was enveloped by a cold atmosphere that caused Shuang Ke who was laying on the ground to tremble, as her eyes went wide and her body limp, her heart beat no longer.

A flash of realization shone through Yu Qingluo’s eyes when she saw the deep laceration on Shuang Ke’s neck. That was certainly the fatal wound. Just when did Ye Xiudu inflict this wound on her? Although she liked to flaunt herself for having eagle eyes, grasping even the smallest details, she unexpectedly didn’t see a single thing this time, not even noticing what kind of weapon he had used to inflict that wound.

Ye Xiudu, this person’s martial arts… were at an unfathomably deep level.

It was obvious that this woman’s information on him wasn’t accurate enough. So she actually ended up giving him her head on a platter.

Ye Xiudu turned towards the room’s entrance, with a ‘katcha’ sound the door was opened, revealing Mo Xian who appeared to be waiting outside. With a cold tone, Ye Xiudu gave an order: “Box number two, get rid of them.”

“Yes.” Mo Xian gave a nod before turning to leave the backyard at a fast speed.

‘Get rid of them?’ Yu Qingluo frowned, a puzzling gaze was directed over Ye Xiudu. She hesitated for a while, swallowing before asking: “Have you already anticipated that they’d appear here today? Did arranged for everything?”

The door was once again shut by him, Ye Xiudu turned around and saw that Yu Qingluo’s expression wasn’t as cold as before and it had actually loosened quite a bit.

He once again went over the beauty’s recliner and hummed a ‘uhm’ in response.

Yu Qingluo’s gaze was deep as she narrowed her eyes: “So, the main purpose of your coming today was not to see the Ghost Doctor, but to get rid of your enemies instead?” Then what right does he have to blame her for hiding her identity as the Ghost Doctor while hiding his own plans from her?

Ye Xiudu laughed: “You seem to be very angry.”

“Angry? How could I?” Yu Qingluo’s lips raised into a brilliant smile: “I just think that you have stayed here for long enough, also getting blood all over my room will probably bring even more unnecessary troubles and burdens to me and my business. So, right now, could you get the fuck out… oh, that’s wrong. Could you please leave?”

(TL: She isn’t angry. What’s that term again? ‘Royally pissed.’ yep, this is the one!)

She spoke it all without a single pause to gasp for air, is this her still not ‘being angry’?

Ye Xiudu deliberated for a bit before giving a brief explanation: “This was only my own conjecture, I wasn’t sure whether they’d actually appear here before. But since you wanted to come here and look around, then naturally I had to prepare everything in a surefire manner.”

‘Argh! This damned shameless man, he is using her as a cover-up again!’ Just what is the meaning of ‘since she wanted to come and take a look’? If she wanted him to die then would he be okay with doing it too?

Yu Qingluo massaged her temples, she understood it all now. She feels that if she keeps by this man’s side she’ll eventually end up dying due to accumulated anger.

She first adjusted her breath slowly until she calmed down, then pointed towards the corpse laying on the floor. “You take care of this, there are other patients for me to see. This matter isn’t over yet, if you dare to ruin my plans, I’ll definitely cut you all open one by one.”

Today, her day was really plagued by misfortunes. All she wanted to do was to set a trap for Yu Zuolin, that one person, but she didn’t expect that while he was sitting in his box contentedly she’d be here in the eye of a storm, without even having a second to catch her breath from all the action.

Especially from…  this one shameless man!

Ye Xiudu glanced at her before getting up, walking towards the window that had been shut by her and opened it. Then, with a gloomy and powerful voice, he spoke towards the person outside: “Shopkeeper Jin, I have to trouble you a bit.”

Jin Liuli stood up abruptly then pointed a finger at herself in surprise: “Are you talking to me??”

“I’m not familiar with the layout of this tavern. If someone saw me doing it or there was an accident in the process then I’m afraid that would bring you even more unnecessary troubles. Therefore I’ll have to bother you to give me a hand, Shopkeeper Jin.”

  “……”

  “……”

Jin Liuli and Yu Qingluo looked at each other, both gritting their teeth. So fucking shameless!! (TL: well, they don’t use the F word, but there’s a lot of ‘ah’ particles. Since I can’t reproduce that I’ll just use the bad words we employ so often when we are angry~)

Hidden under the window stood Nannan, whose eyes lit up at the scene. He decided that from now on he would begin to idolize Uncle Ye. For a person to be able to make both his mother and aunty Jin speechless at the same time, he was absolutely his idol!

[1] Just so as not to have some confusion of which lord someone is addressing, I’ll leave Shuang Ke’s Lord as ‘mistress’, which they refer to her as at a later time.
