The Dishonest Son and The ‘Ghost’ Doctor Mother – Chapter 78

Outstanding Medical Expertise

“Is it contagious?” Jin Liuli’s complexion turned unsightly as she tugged on her friend’s hands: “In this case, we should leave.”

It was better not to be infected with a contagious disease.

Yu Qingluo nodded, she didn’t plan on treating the people in the carriage.

However, although their voices had been really quiet, they were still heard by those people below. The man who had rested his blade against Jiang Yunsheng’s neck raised his head in a quick movement and said in a cold voice: “The people above, get down.”

Yu Qingluo frowned, it seemed that it would be difficult to get out of this situation.

She winked at Jin Liuli and the two jumped down, landing onto the ground at the same time.

“Who are you people and what were you doing hiding on the beans?” The man pushed Jiang Yunsheng back, and the doctor immediately fell onto the floor, but with a frightened face, he scrambled and rushed to the inside of the pharmacy while looking very scared of those people inside of the carriage, terrified that the disease would be spread in no time.

The guards surrounding the carriage looked at him with contempt before turning their sights again to Yu Qingluo. They could feel that those women’s skills weren’t simple and could even feel a hint of threat from them.

Right now, the owner of that carriage was sick and they cannot, at all costs, let anyone else hurt him.

Jin Liuli sneered and rest her hand on her waist on the handle of her weapon but, before she could take any further action, Yu Qingluo had already stopped her.

“Qingluo?”

“I’ll take a look at the person inside of the carriage.”  She just changed her mind. A royal from Liuyun country… it looked like it would be very beneficial for her if she saved his life. Some infectious diseases are difficult to treat, but not incurable. In any case, she and Liuli were being treated as the bad guys by them at the moment, they had to break through a siege to leave regardless.

So, wouldn’t it be better to go and take a peek instead? If it could be cured, then the benefits would be tremendous. And if she couldn’t cure them, then it wouldn’t be too late to just break through the siege.

No one around here knew that she was the Ghost Doctor and it wouldn’t ruin her reputation. Oh well, putting it this way, she really had some foresight making the decision of adopting a mysterious identity and allowing no one to see her real appearance.

Jin Liuli rolled her eyes at her and had to let her go. But her nerves were still taunted and tense, ready to jump into anyone who tried to harm them.

Yu Qingluo walked to Jiang Yunsheng’s side and patted him on the shoulder’s, whispering: “Go and tell them that I’m able to cure the person inside of the carriage.”

“You?” Jiang Yunsheng’s widened in disbelief, like what she had just said was inconceivable to him, not believing her in the least.

Yu Qingluo smiled: “That person inside has an infectious disease, a very serious one, isn’t it?”

Infectious disease? “How come you know that the person’s disease is contagious? How did you know?” She hadn’t even seen them yet. Jiang Yunsheng was puzzled, but he looked her up and down, with eyes still filled with contempt.

“You were so scared that you almost peed your pants as you flew out of that carriage, wasn’t it obvious?”

“You…” Jiang Yunsheng’s face was filled with embarrassment for a second, flushing slightly. Especially now when he was ridiculed by a young girl, making him feel even worse in his heart.

He glared at her viciously.  Ok, if she had the ability, then might as well treat it. In any case, the person risking getting infected would be her in the end and the person who wouldn’t be able to cure him would be her as well, this had nothing to do with him.

Thinking in this way, Jiang Yunsheng’s face turned smug as he said to the man that was facing Jin Liuli: “This girl might be able to treat those two inside of the carriage.”

The man turned his head swiftly, fixing his gaze on Yu Qingluo with eyes full of suspicion: “You?”

“Correct. This girl’s medical expertise isn’t common. She came here today to discuss her studies with me, so just leave it to her.” Jiang Yunshed nodded in affirmation.

The man still held some reservations. She was not a well-known physician such as Doctor Jiang, he felt somewhat embarrassed to hand over his Lord into a woman’s hands.

Yu Qingluo glanced at him and then let out a sigh: “If you delay it any longer, then the people inside of your carriage won’t make it.”

The man was startled, the situation was critical, he couldn’t falter too much, so he respectfully motioned with his hands and allowed her in: “Miss, please.”

Yu Qingluo leapt into the carriage and frowned when she opened the curtain.

The two figures inside of the carriage seemed to have been infected from one another and both had the same symptoms – dehydration and pale lips and mucosa. After a careful look, she managed to pinpoint what disease it was… those were symptoms of cholera.

No wonder those guards were so anxious. Cholera, even in modern times, is also considered a highly dangerous infectious disease and its symptoms shouldn’t be underestimated.

And when considering this ancient setting we live in, it would be no surprise if Jiang Yunsheng considered this to be a sort of plague.

Fortunately, this wasn’t an incurable disease nor a new type of infectious disease, so it could be cured. Moreover, this patient was actually timely delivered to her doorstep, it wasn’t too out of control nor difficult to treat it at this point.

Yu Qingluo smiled, then turned around to jump out of the carriage.

The guard, who had been waiting anxiously outside immediately stepped forward and asked: “How is he?”

“Hm, it’s curable.”

The man let out a relieved sigh, but Jiang Yunsheng’s eyes widened in shock at her words: “You can treat it?”

Yu Qingluo gave him a glance: “Of course, haven’t you seen my skills firsthand previously?”

“Just when did I see…” Jiang Yunsheng closed his mouth quickly, then thought about the poison she had used on him, recalling that she said that it was something she developed herself.

He frowned all of sudden and gave Yu Qingluo another glance, with an unusual expression on his face. Although this girl was somewhat tough, she was still a beauty with a cold and fiery temperament. She was probably a real capable person.

Well! He wants to go and see just how is she going to treat those people inside of the carriage.

“Doctor Jiang, please prepare us a clean room. I need to carry those two in. The carriage isn’t a suitable place for them to be.

The man was also smart and immediately moved as if he was going to take Jiang Yunsheng to prepare the room.

The latter gulped. On one side, he was terrified of the sword in the hands of the man in front of him, and on the other hand, he really wanted to witness Yu Qingluo’s skills, so he ended up going to prepare the room in any case.

Not long after, someone carried the two inside of the carriage into the room.

After Yu Qingluo invited them to enter, she started the treatment.

Jiang Yunsheng wasn’t afraid of being infected anymore, instead, he was really interested in how would Yu Qingluo treat those patients. She also wanted a helper, to be honest, so she thought that the Doctor’s presence in the room was quite useful for her.

That guard was probably worried that his Lord’s condition would turn for the worst, so he stood there to guard him as well.

Jin Liuli was worried about Yu Qingluo and was hesitating to leave, but ended up being driven out by her friend.

Jin Liuli was a tad unsatisfied by her action and grumbled outside. The people inside of the pharmacy were still being guarded by the rest of the foreign convoy and, now that they were aware that Jin Liuli and Yu Qingluo were close to each other, they were much nicer to her.

She looked at them a bit but then turned around to walk to the back of the pharmacy, bored.

Who could’ve guessed that, after just taking a couple of steps, Mo Xian would suddenly jump up in front of her? He came from the direction of the courtyard, his expression was quite dark.
